The October term of the Circuit Court, Judge C. M. Webb presiding, will be commenced in this city next Monday. Following is the calendar, and it will be seen that it is a long one: CRIMXAL CALENDAR. State vs.

Whittaker. This case comes from Marathon county, and has been on the calendar for several terms. The defendent is charged with attempting to rape a deaf and dumb girl. The latter is now attending a deaf ani dumb school, and it is said the delay in bringing the case to trial has been because the authorities have been waiting for the girl to de- PHYSICIANS. Louis LaMere. This case, growing out of the shooting of Scid- raore in this city, is too familiar to our readers to require comment. State vs. Louis DeLester. This is one of the adultery cases in which several undred dollars of the people's money of this county, according to our view, has been squandered in the prosecution of a couple of disreputable people who happened to stop at our hotels.

State vs. Minnie M. Naylor. Same as the above. De Lester and the Naylor woman were both held fof trial, and gave bail for their appearance at this term of court.

The woman, who is the wife of a "Waupaca barber, has since gone back to her husband. State va. Valentine Roblinski. Assault and battery. State vs.

L. A. Thompson. Secreting mortgaged property. "We understand the case is not to be prosecuted.

State vs. Thomas Delmaddy. It is said the trouble has been settled and that a nolle is to be entered. State vs. John Pulinski and others.

Assault with intent to kill and murder. There are four defendants, who are charged with having taken a hand in the stabbing and cutting affray at a wedding at Poland Corners last fall. State vs. John Paukert et. al.

Assault upon and resisting an officer. State vs. Frank Scheider and others. This is the Albert Buelow murder case, in which there are four defendants. State vs.

Frank Allen. Burglary. This is the South Side case, which occurred two or three months ago, since which time Allen has been in jail. State vs. Henry Ostrander, The defendant, who lives in the town of Pine Grove, is charged with stealing a steer bflonging to George Ellis of thesame town.

Ostrander was found skinning the animal in a swamp, but claims that he found it mired there and killed it to save it. JURY CA8E3. J. H. Gavin vs.

This case has been on the calendar since 1885, and is a claim for wages. H. D. Webster vs. John Weisen, To recover $200 claimed to be due.

Herman J. Plummer vs. John O. Johnsen. Plantiffclaims $5,000 damages for false imprisonment.

James E. Page et. al. vs. Frank "Wagner.

This is an ejectment suit brought by the heirs of James Page, who claim tittle to the farm now occupied by Wagner. Balser Williams vs. Stevens Point Lumber Co. To collect a balance of about $400 claimed to be due on a lumber contract. Patrick Dunn vs.

Estate of John Fleming. Action Brought to recover claim of S600 or $700 which defendants claim is outlawed. C. Wilcox vs. C.

C. Giltert. To recover price of stump-puller which defendant claims he never bought. Simpson Berry vs. Jules Iverson.

Action to recover possession of sewing machine. Gulius Jacobson vs. I. Brill et. al.

Claim for services in store at Hurley, which defendant claims to have paid. L. Gunther vs. S. H.

Karner. On promissory note, claimed by defendant to have outlawed. Michael Friday vs. P. H.

Cashin. This case was tried at the last term, hut the jury disagreed. Cashin took plaintiff's team to haul a fire engine to the South Side. It is claimed one of the horses was injured, and pay for the same is sought. John Schulgst vs.

Louis Weisner. Replevin of a horse. John Janowelshi vs. Joseph Costic. Mrs.

Adam Kuhl vs. August Timm. Suit bfought to recover about $400 claimed to be due. S. S.

Barney vs. Charles Blodgett. For $400 for legal services. Menasha Wooden Ware vs. J.

T. Daniels et. al. Damages claimed for the obstruction of the Little Eau Pleine river, which plantiffs claim prevented them from running their logs. Alice Green vs.

John A. Walker. Beplevin of team taken by Walker as Sheriff. Bozil Marian vs. William T.

Jones et. al. Trespass in cutting timber. From $150 to $200 claimed. Jesse A.

Martin vs. Wis. Central To recover value of colt killed by cars. Peter Grover vs. John Knitter.

Grover had a judgment against Knitter for about $30. A settlement was effected, Grover drawing a receipt which he claims Knitter took possession of without paying the money over. Knitter claims he did pay the money. John Wyock and Aleck Simkee vs. W.

W. Boyington et. al. Two cases, both for wages claimed to be due. D.

M. Osborn Co. vs. Frank Baumback. To recover value of reaper which defendant claims was not as represented.

0. F. Jackson vs. Otto Beck. Plaintiff claims that he was assaulted by defendant, and that in the melee one of his legs was broken, and wants damages in the sum of $.500.

John Fronhauer vs. John Tyler. Suit for slander in which $1,000 damages are claimed. The difficulty grew out of a quarrel between members of Third Ward Catholic church. Stephen Cleveland vs.

Dwelling House Insurance Company. Plaintiff's house in the town of Carson was burned, but payment was refused on the ground that, contrary to his representations, the property did not belong to Cleveland. Adolph Fountain vs. Louis Weisner. Charles Blodgett vs.
