And the sweetness of her memory time can neither dim nor end. Sadly Missed By Daughters and Families IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARY WISHMAN BARTKOWIAK who passed away 26 years ago April 7, 1989 Donald A. Yokers, age 85, of Plover, died March 30, 2015 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living while under the care of his family and Heartland Hospice of Stevens Point.

Donald was born May 17, 1929 to the late Herman and Edith (Schadewald) Yokers in Stevens Point, WI. He grew up here, attended the local grade schools, graduated from high school, and attended UWSP. Donald lived and worked on his family farm until becoming employed at Boston Furniture Store. Donald later became employed with Community Industries and Crown Products for over 16 years. He worked part-time at Worzalla Publishing until retirement.

Donald loved sports, especially baseball. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed writing poetry, playing baseball in his younger years, swimming and bowling. He also enjoyed staying active within the community as a 4H leader, a Portage County League Baseball manager, and a member of the Wisconsin Valley Softball League. He is survived by his brothers, Henry (Margaret) Yokers of Plover and Herman Yokers of Montverde, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2015 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev.

Yokers Genevieve Annette Runke, age 91, died peacefully on April 1, 2015 at St Hospital ICU after a 10-year struggle with multiple myeloma. Gen was born August 7, 1923, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar and Mantie Christianson. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School, and then worked for the Door County Fruit Growers Co-op as a secretary and, later, at the Door County Vocational and Technical School. She was a member of, and advisor to the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority at the University of Point (UWSP). In 1948, Gen married the love of her life Henry M.

Runke, UWSP Emeritus Professor of Art. She supported him during his 35-year University teaching career, helping with various school projects, summer art workshops and artistic creations. In addition to raising their children, she also taught Sunday school at Trinity Lutheran Church. Family and friends were passion and delight. She was always willing to help in any way she could.

She was a kind, compassionate, and generous person who loved to share good conversation over a cup of Proud of her Norwegian heritage, Gen also loved lefse, lute- and rommegrot. Gen thoroughly cherished her family and had a positive outlook on life that was exemplary. She loved animals and over the years had many pets, especially dogs. Gen donated to many charities including rescue shelters, wildlife habitat preservation or- ganizations, the Audubon Society and the Sierra Club, just to name a few. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M.

Runke, daughter-in-law, Kathy Runke, and two sisters: Marie (Joseph) Johnston, and Dorothy (Lawrence) Washburn. Genevieve is survived by her sister, Grace Audette; children: Henry (Bonnie) Runke, John (Kathy) Runke, Eric Runke, Jean (Alfred) Pieper and Rex (Wendy) Runke; three grandchildren: Samantha Apoo, Ryon Runke and Zackory Runke; and one great grandchild, Henry Apoo. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Gen requested a private memorial service for immediate family members. In keeping with her willingness to help others, in lieu of howers, memorial contributions to either the Humane Society of Portage County or to Operation Bootstrap Crisis Assistance are preferred for anyone wishing to make a contribution.

Runke Bernadine Prondzinski age 86, of Stevens Point passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday March 31, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernadine will be held on Friday April 10, 2015 at St.

Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Re- bacz will oLiciate. Burial will be at the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM on Friday before the service at the church.

Shuda Funeral Services is assisting the family. Bernadine was born at home on February 6, 1929 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Basil and Rosalie (Bartkowiak) Zynda. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1947. Bernadine married Ervin Prondzinski on July 5, 1947 at St.

Peters Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their family. She worked at for a period of time as well as cleaning private homes. In her retirement Bernadine opened her home to those with disabilities from Community Industries for 15 years. She enjoyed camping, card games, jigsaw puzzles, bowling, word searches, and puzzle books.

Most of all she loved her family and her past dog Rosie. Bernadine is survived by her 3 daughters: Donna M. (Patrick) Merrick, Wausau; Dawn S. Barwick, Stevens Point; Diane R. (Gene) Richter, Stevens Point.

9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her brother Dave (Geri) Zynda, Wausau and her special friend Gretchen Anderson, Stevens Point. Along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ervin in 1990, her twin sister Gerry, and her 2 brothers: Connie and Basil Jr. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.

shudafuneral.com Prondzinski, Bernadine Kenneth E. Higgins, 83, of Plover, WI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 5, 2015. He was born July 25, 1931 in Plover to Jesse and Etta (Parks) Higgins. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on February 7, 1952.

Kenneth served 2 years active duty and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 17, 1954 as a Korean War Veteran. Kenneth married Shirley Copeland on July 3, 1954. He enjoyed coaching and watching baseball, hunting, Vshing, and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife Shirley, Vve children; Donna (Doug Mc Canna), Larry, Ronald (Yvonne Thompson), Mary (Ed Mullins) Raymond (Sandy Brown) Higgins.

One brother: Jesse Higgins Jr. and one sister: Lila Roback. Kenneth had 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Gary, Frank Gale and two sisters: Marge Altenburg Katie Slack. His sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of aowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday April 9, 2015 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 2911 Plover Road in Plover. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Meehan cemetery. Burial at Restlawn Memorial Park. David was born May 5, 1932 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to August and Rosetta (Witt) Henke. He married Dorla D. Mehlbrech on August 10, 1952, at St. Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Dave was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. for 40 years retiring in April 1990, as maintenance manager of the Stevens Point Division. David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from December 11, 1952 until December 10, 1954. Dave was a charter member of St.

Lutheran Church where he served in many oRices, taught Sunday school, was a counselor of the Walther League and was a founder of the Evangelism Team. He enjoyed golf, getting a hole in one in 1986, was a sports fan year round, loved hunting and and also served as an alderman for the City of Wisconsin Rapids. Dave was a member of the IBEW. David is survived by three daughters, Debra (Ray) Henke-Dobson of Sayner, WI, Sheryl (Greg) Romanski of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Pamela (David) Lutz of Plover, WI; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Stransky, Dr. Nicole (Douglas) McCauley, Duane (Carly) Dobson, Scott Dobson, Tony Dobson, David (Holly Lee) Romanski, Daniel (Amanda) Romanski, Dana (Peter) Boettcher, Lauren (Jason Lorden) Lutz, Richard (Allison) Lutz and Rachel (special friend- Justin Baker) Lutz; 16 great grandchildren, DeAnna, Meghan, Dennis and August Stransky; Dominick, Donovan and Chloe Dobson; Jessica Amo; Chayla, JeRery and Katie Dobson; Cadyn Lee, Luke and Joshua Romanski; Delaney Romanski and Ryan Lorden.

David is also survived by three sisters, Arlene Tuttle of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Betty (Emil) Ehlert of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Gean (George) Maxwell of Baraboo, WI; two sisters in law, Emily Henke and Bea Henke; brother in law Arlon (Donna) Mehlbrech and special friends, Al and Sandy Winegarden, Jon and Brenda Mancheski, Lewis Agrall and family and Donna and Lowell Nevil family. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorla, grandson Darren Romanski, sister Evelyn (Herb) Neitzel, brothers LaVerne (Violet) Henke, Harlan Henke, Everett (Janet) Henke and August Henke and brother in law Len Tuttle.
