The 31-year-old man seemed confused that the dog was deceased, said Lynn Olenik, the executive director of the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County. He became belligerent and screamed that the staff members were sick people, Olenik said.

"He said we would pay for the dog with our lives," Olenik said, paraphrasing his comments from Thursday.
